Established in 2006.
"Kaimaku Pennant race" means "opening a baseball pennant race" in Japanese.
( Kaimaku = opening, opener or beginning )
Because we think our production and play style are just like a hard
long term baseball pennant race.
The company started with Yu Murai(Director)'s slogan "Performance is impact"!!!
Yu Murai reinterprets all kinds of classical dramas, mainly using extreme body
expressions to illustrate the new type of dramas.
Yu focuses on the play style which using actors' bodies 120 per cent, and gushing out
massive liquid from their bodies. Those are surreal worlds and so energetic!!
This is "Kaimaku style"!!
The play style is a result of fusion by characterized physical structure of Japanese people
which developed Japanese martial arts "Budo", and Japanese mentality which was
developed with Japanese pop culture such as cartoon, manga and TV games.
Through this original physical expression, Kaimaku Pennant race aims at
building a "NEW THEATER / ART AND ENTERTAINMENT".
Kaimaku Pennant race succeed their first world tour in New York in 2009, The New York Times
and many other media praised their play in reviews. It was said "they are Asian Blue man".
We would like to express our energetic and surreal play based on
physical and mental identities of Japanese, and hope to make more opportunities to touch
Japanese culture for overseas people, that makes people happier and spread friendships
across the world.
Thus, we look forward to play in many different countries.
